I'm interesting and intelligent, somewhat intellectual, stable, and financially secure. I'm enjoying my life, but would like to share it. I'm looking for intimacy, open communication, honesty, emotional generosity and passion. I've regarded all the ups and downs of life as opportunities to grow, and have learned much from a long marriage that ended fairly amicably, and from raising my daughter, who is now 22. I approach life with an open heart and mind. Warm and tactile, and comfortable in my own skin, I'm a good communicator and a good listener, and love to laugh. I love books, music, poetry and the arts, the countryside, and travel. I'm Humanist/Buddhist/Unitarian, trying to live out my values, always concerned to try and make a difference in the world in whatever way I can. I'm interested in all religions, and seeking for truth and meaning in life. I meditate regularly. I walk to work, enjoy yoga, Pilates and aerobics, swimming and dancing. I find curiosity to be the key to getting the most out of life and love my work in academia because it involves helping others, working with college students, as well as constant learning, and all of those make me very happy. I grew up in the UK and moved to New York in 1984, becoming an American citizen in 2000, but I remain an internationalist at heart.
