Thanks for reading my profile. I'm an aging hippie, very Liberal political activist, support literacy programs, humanitarian/environmental concerns, animal rights, & Veterans, especially Vietnam Veterans. I'm Spiritual but not religious, drawn to Native American culture, wisdom and spirituality, which are most compatible with my own personal beliefs. Even though I myself have NEVER smoked, I have lung damage, so cannot be around smokers.I retired from full-time work in January, 2008. I have one daughter and one grandson in North Carolina and don't get to see them as much as I'd like. I'm not a control freak, airhead, or gold digger. My primary interests are reading, writing, humor and comedy, mysteries, nature, travel, history, geography, genealogy, physics, metaphysics, ALL the British Isles, ALL music (EXCEPT MOST country), & other cultures. I love animals and live with my outrageously spoiled cats, Jules & Mia. I like to laugh often and have an unconventional sense of humor. I want a long-term relationship where I can connect on all levels--mental, emotional, and spiritual as well as physical. I'm NOT seeking a Chippendale type! A man's height, weight, body type, ethnic background, hair, color of eyes, income and/or occupation, do not matter very much to me! I'm much more interested in character and attitude than in appearance. I don't mind facial hair IF it's neat and trimmed. Long hair is sexy IF it's clean and well-groomed. I prefer someone who shares my religious and political views. It is very important to me to find someone who can or will share my views in these areas. I am an affectionate and loyal partner and lavish my mate with a lot of attention and affection. Prefer the man to make the first move. I'm most comfortable with artistic, creative types such as musicians, writers, & artists.
