I think that activism is important because what many people fail to understand is that we all have a *vote*. People complain about the way the world is and yet they play the same games that support and propogate the very systems they complain about. It is important to communicate to people that they all have a stake in the creation of the world that we reside in. Picketting and lobbying are nice but the only real way to change the world is to reach the individual people and get them to exercise thier own right to influence the path of societal flow. If you don`t like the current socio-economic heirarhy, resist the urge to treat your underlings like crap. Doesn`t matter if others have treated you poorly in the past, if you commit the same crime for the same reasons then you have cast a vote to propogate the system that had held you under thumb -- you have, in effect, become one of them.
